This year, while deciding on that Christmas present for your loved one that you know is interested in adventure style video games, you will be faced with a lot of choices. There have been many releases this year and some stand out more than others. Here is a quick overview of the highest rated and best new games of late 2009.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (Playstation 3)

In this second installment of the Uncharted series, Naughty Dog studios tried even harder to meet up to the standards of the first Uncharted game. They easily surpassed this and went even further! This game is like a movie inside of a video game. The player will take the role of Drake, an archeologist in search of treasure. Players will be challenged to get to certain points while avoiding the bad guys and shooting like their's no tomorrow. The game is rated T for teen by the ESRB and is recommended for children age thirteen and older. For an action filled game for the holidays, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a must buy.

Little Big Planet: Game of the Year Edition (Playstation 3)

If you are looking for a game for everyone in the family to enjoy this Christmas, check out Little Big Planet: Game of the Year Edition. The game focuses around physics and is an enjoyable learning experience. Players must get their user-created Sackboy/Sackgirl across a 2D/3D side scrolling level. What makes this game more interesting than your average side scroller, is that that the controls aren't perfect and gravity comes into play while getting across levels. Players can even create their own levels and play on them and share them with the world via Playstation Network. With millions of levels available free online and the ability to create your own including the ones already on the game, the possibilities are endless. This game of the year edition comes with eighteen extra levels and even more to keep the fun going. Rated E for everyone by the ESRB, this game is accessible and safe for any age player! If you buy this for your kids, you might even find yourself playing it too!

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi)

Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi owners are in for a treat this holiday season. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is a action packed game with the quality you expect from Nintendo.
