I love winter for the mere reason of purchasing a winter coat. I thought one should purchase a winter coat once a year, until last year when I found the best winter coat ever made. The coat is worth every single penny of $209 that I paid for it. It has goose feathers and it falls below the waist. I always suggest a coat that falls below the waist, especially for those who use public transportation. Length protects from sitting on cold surfaces, which can cause hemorrhoids. My coat has zippers on the pockets, this feature helps protect my gloves from getting lost as they often did with other coats. My coat also has a hood that is lined with fur, and it has draw strings on either side of the hood and inside the lining. The drawstrings make it easy for me to keep cold air from leaking inside. I have decided not to invest in another coat for at least the next three years because I never get cold in my favorite coat. To top it off the coat is light purple and I have never seen anyone with it.
The most important features to look for when buying a coat are durability; the coats life span, warmth, and style. Style is the least important feature for a winter coat because winter styles are not as flamboyant. I like solid colored coats because they are more flexibly worn over business suits or formal attire. I believe that there should be one coat for all occasions because winter is a time for saving money. I rarely ever shop during the winter unless it's for the holidays. The most I ever spent on a coat is $209 and I would not buy a coat this expensive as a gift. I don't suggest buying a coat as a gift unless it's for a child. Coats are very significant pieces of outerwear because they are constantly worn during the winter. The best coat is one that can transcend the look you are trying to achieve on daily basis.
I would mention where I bought my coat but as stated I have never found anyone with my coat and I'd like to keep it that way. The best feature to any coat is specialty. It's easy to fall in the category of the majority wearing a black coat that looks uniform. I highly suggest finding a coat that is uniquely catered to your individual style. Black is so ice age and depressing during the winter months. I think people should experiment with color during the winter. Pastels are pretty for females and winter white looks good on anyone. I prefer my man in a gray or brown coat that has a hood and deep pockets. I love fleece's and wool linings in coats because this ensures warmth and comfort.
Before buying a coat decide on how much you intend to spend and look for the best place to fit your budget. Thrift shops are great places to find good coats that are inexpensive. I have found lots of rabbit fur coats at thrift shops that are very fashionable. The best coat is the one you can wear for at least three years, unless you are wealthy. In my case I have found a treasure in my coat because it has paid for itself over 10 times. If I can, I will never buy another coat again.
