Memoirs: First impressions

New Interviews, dates and in laws all seem to be unavoidable in life. There are shelves filled with books on tips and tricks and even spoof movies trying to guild a light on these sometimes unsettling situations. Reality is, it takes one new opportunity to change your life. One. How do successful people impress these opportunities?

Leaving an good first impression is important in the new occurrences of life. Leaving a real impression of 'who you are', is even more important. Whether it's to work a 'nine to five', land a lead role in a movie or speed date in Midtown, everyone has auditioned at some point in their life. For performers there is a feeling of being judged on appearance and personality, a nine to fiver may feel their being judged on education and experience, while a date is concerned with all the above. Regardless of the incident, people are being judged and the first impression is the only impression.

Studies conducted on speed dating prove that people judge within first few seconds of meeting someone. Within the first few minutes of a date, a woman will know whether or not she wants to have the mans child. After a first impression, If the guy turns out to be the one for her, than she is on to something. Anthropology also covers this phenomena in which a female judges a potential mate based from their senses, intuitions and impressions.

Body language, lexicon and appearance all play a role in the art of first impressions. Matching jobs with the right person, matching singles with the right mate. It has to fit. First impression is the only door to a callback. What's even better is that first impressions are fleeting of facts and reasoning. Every person has an opportunity to win the room over with their distinction, yet so few trust it.

There are classes, books and seminars on body language and appearance. Professionals and professional daters now have a higher sense for bullsh*t. What does one have left to use? First impressions. Performers, politicians and the greatest CEO's and Lovers have reached the heights of their success because of a good genuine first impression.

Whether it's a interview, audition, blind date or meeting the new in-laws; leaving a good, no, GREAT first impression with strangers will open doors to great opportunities. A person being their absolute self during a first impressions leaves an impression. The only way to distinction is intuition. Distinct people go with their intuition, they go with themselves. That's the secret behind the greatest first impressionists; dazzle them with you.
