Tips for making your entrance area welcoming

Entrances are the gateways into a homes presence and the owners personality and style, the way you dress up your entrance area lends an eye to how the rest of your home looks and feels. Setting the staging area if you will, the entrance area into your home foretells your lifestyle, the harmony, balance and decor you present in the rest of your living space. How you choose to decorate this particular area of your home should be lending to the decor in the rest of your home, although often a completely separate room, you should use elements and pieces that are found in the rest of the house as well. When decorating a new home or the home you currently occupy use the entrance area as a formate for the way you decorate the rest of the rooms in your house. An entrance area should be clean and organized, coats, shoes, mail and other clutter need to be kept in hiding, showcasing your decor and attitude for the way you want your home to be. There is nothing more unsightly then a room full of muddy shoes (that stink), coats and mail, simple minimal solutions for hiding the lost and homely clutter of clothing and mail is to use baskets, desks with drawers, wooden chests and armours. Decorative coat racks with mirrors and shelves are fine items to use adding creative appeal to articles of sporadic clutter.

Constitute in mind or on paper the way you want your entrance way to look and feel, keeping in mind it sets the tone for the rest of your home. Choose a color and pattern that is pleasing to the eye one that is inviting and welcoming, bright, fresh and airy, don't choose a color or pattern that might be too busy or too dark, keep it simple. Decorate walls with family pictures along with other pictures and accents that compliment the rest of your home, add candles to desk tops or tables, place a small hallway rug in the middle of the area choosing a color and pattern that is similar to other patterns and colors in the room. When using family pictures use picture frames in matching colors, the sizes and the design of the frame look great in arrangements if they are different but keep the same color, arrange the pictures on your wall in a collage formate , to many lines and straight rows of accessories and pictures can be dull and boring, keep this room of your home light and fresh and fun.
