*Silly Clown

Draw the outline of a clown on construction paper. Embellish the picture with buttons, cotton, old jewelry pieces and strips of fabric.

*Paper Dolls

Draw and cut-out a picture of you. Glue yarn on for hair. Using different colors of construction paper, draw clothes such as jeans, shirts, skirts, dresses, hats, shoes, coats, sweaters, scarves and evening gowns for girls. Boys can create clothes too, such as doctor, Army, firefighters, bus drivers, and policemen uniforms, sports clothing and business suits. Cut-out the clothes making sure to cut folding tabs to hold the clothes on the paper doll.

*Flowering Tree

Draw the outline of a large tree on construction paper and color the trunk brown and the leaves green. Using colorful tissue paper, cut lots of small squares, wad them each into a loose ball and glue it on the tree. Repeat until the tree is filled with blossoms.

*Place-mats

Make cuts one-inch apart to within one-inch of a piece of construction paper that is eight and a half by eleven-inches. Choose a sheet of contrasting color and cut the construction paper into one-inch-wide strips. Weave the strips in and out of the first piece of paper and glue each end of the strip. When all the strips are woven into place you will have a nice place-mat.

*My Town Map

On a sheet of white construction paper, draw streets that lead to your school. Cut houses, schools, stores, trees, cars and buses out of colored paper, adding one-half-inch for a stand-up tab. Use more paper to make doors, windows and roofs for the buildings or draw and color them. Fold the tab at a 90 degree angle and glue them in the correct place.

*Nosegays

Draw a large circle and cut it out. Draw a line from the center to the edge and cut along the line. Overlap the two cut sides until they form a cone and glue in place. Decorate the cone with glitter. Punch a hole one-half-inch from the top of the cone on two sides. Thread a ribbon through the holes and tie big knots to hold them in place.
