First of all I have to admit that I haven't read the book, so the story was absolutely new for me. I haven't read reviews on the film either, so I was just looking for films of Gerard Butler, because I loved how he acted in The Ugly Truth.

This film is about a young couple - Gerry (Gerard Butler) and Holly (Hilary Swank) - who love each other very much. Sounds odd I know, but the story is not about their happy life. Gerry dies of a brain tumour. Holly seems to be very lonely. Her friends and family don't leave her alone. They visit her on her 30th birthday when she receives a birthday cake and a cassette with a message for her from his dead husband. He knows her wife very well and each letter has a "P.S. I Love You" in the end. It is so touching. Gerry wants Holly to be happy again to find her goals in her life. He wrote several letters to Holly and organised even a trip for her and her friends. Holly lives from one letter to the other. Will she be ever ready to leave the constant thinking about Gerry and living with his memories? Will she be happy again? I recommend you watch it because it is such a beautiful film.

The film has lovely music and the actors play their roll very well. To be honest, in the beginning I didn't like Hilary Swank. I felt she didn't match this role but I was wrong. She played it very well.

I was impressed by the songs of Gerard Butler. The whole story was so emotional and touching that I still can't forget it and I'm still thinking about it. He matched this role very well I loved the moments in the film where they got to know each other. The passionate man role fits Gerard Butler very well.

Denise (Lisa Kudrow) was Holly's best friend. She played a little bit similar character to the one in Friends, and she was fantastic. I liked how she checked men. It was really funny.

I enjoyed the meeting of Holly and Billy Gallagher (Gerry's best friend). Jeffrey Dean Morgan played Billy's role and he was fantastic too.

Harry Connick Jr played Daniel Connelly, a man working for Holly's mother. He was very understanding and supportive. His role was a great match too.

The classification of this film is 12 years and over. It needs some emotional maturity to understand it and to appreciate it. It is a beautiful film I will watch again in a few days. I'm still under the spell of this film.
