Many people today talk about homosexuals and Christianity, but the topic brings a question, can a Christian be gay? Of course a Christian can be homosexual. It is all about the personal choice of the individual because of thoughts that persist. Another topic of discussion brought about by this is, can a person be born gay? I believe they can. It all depends on how the person feels, allowing the fact that if they are not attracted to the opposite sex there is no way they can be straight.

Being gay is a personal decision based upon years of thought, or an overwhelming urge of sexual attraction to another person of the same sex. Everyone has a chance to be gay, but it often relies on the person themselves and the way they feel. The decision to be homosexual usually comes with age, but if they are Christian, they may feel a need to satisfy others around them, burying their feelings. Although they may bury their true feelings, in time, the truth will show it self because it will be a lie, and it will eat away at the person. Usually it is found through years of thought and self reflection, but their are a few other theories on being homosexual that include Christians.

One of the most debated topics of being homosexual is whether they can be born this way. My personal belief is they can, and I have personal experience with this circumstance, given by a friend and books I have read. Although I am not a homosexual myself, one of my closest friend's family member is one, and it is open knowledge. The family member in question has shared their feelings, and it is also known that he has felt that way since he has felt attraction. Not only do I have the aid of a friend on this topic, the book Running With Scissors is about the trials of a young boy, growing into adulthood, but he learns at a young age he is homosexual. He wrote of being ten, realizing the truth, but it did not start then. It started in his youth with his overwhelming concern for his appearance and cleanliness. After he found that he was gay, he knew that he made the right decision because he felt right.

A main factor of knowing if a Christian is homosexual occurs when they feel right. If they are thinking about how lovely a man is, and they notice that they do not try to shy away from the thought then that is a feeling of being right. Even when they are Christian, they will have an overwhelming correct feeling, and it will enter their mind that they are homosexual. This is when the seeds of homosexuality are planted and the person will begin to feel a need to experiment, leading them to where they belong. The bible says that homosexuality is a sin, but it does not say that homosexuality for a Christian is impossible because no matter what anyone says, it comes down to the person's decision that matters most.
