Supposing McCain was President and in charge of the country the one thing I have no doubt would be happening is an increased and heavy presence of the army in both Iraq and Afghanistan. They are two major differences between President Obama and Senator McCain which was clear during the primaries and even clearer now.
President Obama is more politically savvy and his approach is more intellectual than it is physical. President Obama argues his foes from a point of view that first acknowledges that there is a common ground and McCain starts from a position which says that he is Conservative and Conservatism is the way to great life. In a very enlightened way, President Obama is more of a Liberal, Moderate, Conservative President, he is the kind that identifies with anyone who calls himself an American and McCain is more Conservative in and out.
Approach, the biggest difference between the two men is their approach to situations. McCain is like a bull that is looking at a red mark, he will not take his eyes off it because he believes he is wired like that and he will not budge from what he has set his mind on. Obama is more like a well parrot; he will listen and learn before making an attempt to repeat what he has heard while he has his own ideas at the back of his mind. I feel that if the two men were to be given five enemies to deal with, McCain would come out with no friends while Obama would most probably make four friends from the five.
When the Georgia/ Russia issue exploded, McCain had a hard line on one side while Obama was more calculated and not so one sided? One could say Obama has bought insight and foresight while McCain only relies on his hind sight always. McCain is really a self propelled bulldozer; he will pull everything down before he can actually gather the reason he has pulled things down while again Obama is like the driver of the bulldozer who will first mark and prep up his site before putting the machine to work.
In essence approach & thoughtfulness are the less obvious differences between the two men but the true major difference between McCain and Obama is how they use their intellect. Obama is not only a scholar of reason; he has reason to his approach of situation where McCain uses his life experiences to guide him.
