My soul
Sometimes, my soul howls at the full moon
It perches at the peak of a craggy hilltop
And arches lustfully towards the light
Thunder clouds cruise past, at times blanketing the orb
They burst in their own moments of blaze
Freezing an image of my soul's pain
The storm pushes fingers of racing air before it
They pull back hair and skin from my soul's face
Exposing eyes, the colour of the sun, each split by a tiny slit of darkness
Sometimes, my soul yearns
Sometimes, my soul dances with gay abandon
It races and triple jumps through streets filled with strangers
People crowd around and dance with their own blurring colours
And my soul twists and spins and flashes smiles and salutes to the unknown
My soul may hug, with suspicious intimacy, another strange soul
And will never understand why that embrace was never forgotten
Sometimes, my soul is carefree
Sometimes, my soul will not stop its incessant whispers
It gossips and nags and tells me things that I do not want to know
Until I scream out stop
But then it just slinks around to the other ear
My soul remembers what I won't
It tells me the same story in many different ways
My soul reminds me of feelings forgotten
It warns me of feelings to come
Sometimes, my soul needs to talk
Always, my soul is alive

SOUL
I am wandering, lost in a
forest of confused thoughts;
searching and hoping to discover
the composition of who I am.
I am
My spirit is all that I am,
my essence, or is it my soul?
What thoughts produce me to be me?
Good, evil, which do I control?
Blackened and burned,
The hardened shell
Encases the tender sprout.
Darkness encroaches
Threateni ng the frail
Weakening wall.
Bitterness,
