When choosing a GPS device to purchase for that special someone this Christmas there are a couple questions you will want to ask yourself. First of all, how much are you willing to pay. Second of all, what does the person you are buying for want in their GPS device.
Garmin Nuvi 880
If you are looking to get a very high quality GPS unit, you'll want to go with the Garmin Nuvi. Touch screen, Bluetooth, speech recognition, and MSN Direct services are just a few of the many features that come with this GPS. It is also a very light unit weighing only a mere 6.2 ounces. Priced at $699 MSRP it's a bit high on price. Garmin Nuvi is best for people who want to get the most out of their GPS unit.
Navigon 7200T
For a GPS unit that is more reasonably priced and has some extra features, then the Navigon 7200T is the choice. It has Bluetooth, text-to-speech capabilities, and touch screen. The bad about it is that the voice recognition can be poor at times and it's more complicated than most other GPS units. Another featherweight dropping in at only 6.5 ounces. At $3.79.99 MSRP, it still is a very expensive piece of equipment, but not as high as the Garmin.
Magellan Maestro 4
The Magellan Maestro is another higher priced but higher quality GPS units. It features Bluetooth, voice recognition, advanced lane guidance, and touch screen capabilities. The Magellan has said to suffer from a choppy menu and longer waits for thing to load. The Magellan Maestro 4 comes in at around $375.00. A little heavier than the others, it comes in at 7.4 ounces. It is an easily operated GPS unit and is best for younger, more advanced GPS users.
Mio C520 Navigation Receiver
A cheaper alternative to getting a GPS unit, the Mio C520 has all that you would expect from a GPS unit and not much more. It has all the basics and is a simple use. The bad is that the Bluetooth has been reported as a little quirky and sometimes it is not totally correct on your location. Weighing only 6.7 ounces and coming in at $299.99 it is a slim and cheaper buy.
TomTom ONE 125
Alright, here is the best GPS unit for under $200. The TomTom ONE 125 is the simplest GPS unit on the market. With no extra features and just the necessities, it is perfect for older people who are not familiar with GPS units. Priced starting at only $99.99, this is easily the best GPS for under $150 on the market today.
Before buying a GPS unit for someone, make sure you know if they will be able to figure out how to use the GPS before buying for them. You may be able to help them by doing some research on the internet or just reading the handy instruction guide for once.
