Can you believe that it is already time to start thinking about Christmas 2009 shopping? Buying Christmas gifts for the little ones in the one year to two-year group can be quite challenging. While most things will make them happy, they are too young to give you much of a hint about what they would really like.

When it comes to children's toys Fisher Price has been around for almost 80 years. They have been in the forefront of children's toy manufacturing for most of that time and are the world's largest manufacturer of pre-school children's toys. Now they are part of Mattel Toys and if anything, their toys have gotten even better.

Fisher Price has expanded beyond just the department stores to a catalogue and online business. One very popular item for the one to two year old set is the Little People Nativity Collection. This is a wonderful and very hands on way to let your children come to understand the true meaning of Christmas. You get the Inn, the Wise Men, Mary, Joseph and of course Baby Jesus. There are tents for the wise men, sheep, a donkey cart, camels and even a starry background. Everything you need to understand that very special night. There is even music, when the angel is on top of the manger; it plays "Away in the Manger". The full set is $67 but if you only want one of the three sets, they can all be bought separately.

If you are more interested in a secular Christmas then the A Visit from Santa Set has plenty of lights, sound and action. There is Santa and his sleigh, with only one reindeer. The door of the house can be rung; Santa fits in the chimney and has a sack of toys. The house opens up for even more fun. Everything a toddler could want.

New this year is the Little Superstar Jammin Band Musical Microphone and if your toddler is showing signs of wanting to be an American Idol this is the perfect way to let them get started. When they are small they can sit and play and enjoy their own voice and as they get a little older, they can turn it into a stand and play. This toy is sure to be a winner this Christmas.

Another of this year's new offering is the Load 'n Go Wagon. It comes with twenty-five building blocks that are the perfect size for little hands. There is also a puppy play figure and what little one doesn't love a puppy? The blocks all store inside the wagon for easy cleanup.
