I think the Gosselin parents have gotten a bad reputation by the media. Jon & Kate plus Eight started out as an innocent family reality show and has turned into mass chaos. Any couple anywhere would have their lives turned upside-down with the birth of sextuplets. Especially when they already have two children at home. Eight little mouths to feed each month is a tall, expensive order. The Gosselins started at TLC out of monetary need. Jon & Kate plus Eight was a stable income for a very large family. You can not put the blame for the failed Gosselin marriage on TLC's back. TLC proved well for the Gosselins during their series' run. Any hurt suffered by the Gosselin kids comes at their parents' hands. For the record, I have but no longer watch Jon & Kate. I think TLC trying to work Jon out of his family's own show was a slap in the face to Jon Gosselin. It is no wonder he halted filming. It sounded as though he tried to months ago.

I will say "bravo" for Jon. He has found his voice against Kate. The show's stay at TLC was coming to its end anyway. There was not much more story-line left with the kids. The only reason people watched was to see Jon and Kate bark at each other. The kids got their toys, clothes and trips by their parents looking like fools on TV. It was time for the show to be removed before all eight kids suffered from the spotlight.

What caused the divorce was clear. Kate wanted to treat Jon like a dog. She did so repeatedly on the the show. She said "jump" , he said " how high?". He quit his job so she could go on her book tours. Of course, this made for an angry, resentful Jon. No one could blame him though. Their fighting around the kids should have been a no-no. They have eight kids and she was away all of the time, so how could they have a decent conversation?

In the long run, the Gosselin kids will probably look at Jon& Kate plus Eight as a blessing. The show does contain some happier family moments for them. It is how Jon and Kate handled their new found fame that destroyed their marriage. Divorce causes children to suffer. They are not missing TLC and the cameras. Daddy's gone and he probably will not move back in. Jon and Kate caused this. Kate does not know how to speak kindly to her husband. Jon got to the point where he could not take it anymore. Bottom line.
