Poetry: Facing death

...Final Breath...
My body's growing weak now
My sight is growing dim
My heart is working fiercely
To keep this life within...

If only for a moment more
To look upon your face
To feel your arms arond me
In a tightened warm embrace...

I am focused on your lips now
Though no words can I hear
What once was music to my heart
Now falls upon deaf ears...

I can 't feel your hands caress my cheek
Though I know that it's there
Nor can I feel your lips upon mine
As light as a wisp of air...

It's hard for me to move now
My race is almost run
I still have so much to say to you
So much I've left undone...

I want to say I'm sorry
For the pain in every tear
For the hurt I have caused you
Year after wasted year...

I need to say thank you
For always being a friend to me
My sight grows dark,it's time my dear
Your beautiful face I no longer see...

I'm getting cold now
Though my body does not shake
Icy darkness encloses me
"I Love You' whispered with,the final breath I take...
