Looking beyond the statistics of hate crime

I could sit here and tell you every statistic that is on the Internet about hate crimes, but I think there is a deeper issue then the numbers and percentages of these crimes. Hate is a terrible thing that is taught at a early age, and what people do with it when they get older is terrible. Have you ever seen a hate crime? I know you have heard of one, but have you ever actually seen it? Have you actually heard to details? Go on

www.youtube.com one day and research it. 8 times out of 10, the people are begging for whoever is beating them to stop. 9 times out of 10, it is one person getting beaten by 4 or more people.

Have you ever stepped inside this person's shoes? It is easy to ignore a hate crime when you don't know the person and it isn't you. It is even easier to ignore it if you have never seen one and have been raised in a world were hate crimes happen to people who deserve them. What you don't realize is that hate crimes happen ONLY to people who are innocent. These people are stripped naked, beaten, embarrassed, and made fun of in public, or even worse, in a cop station. Hate crimes mostly happen by police. I have known people personally who have been pulled over by the cops, pulled out of there car and then beaten because they "were being rude to the cop." Since when is being rude a reason to be tortured? I knew a girl who got raped by 3 cops, then beaten, when she was pulled her over on the interstate late at night.

Have you ever talked to someone who has gone through a hate crime? The hate crime itself causes hatred inside of them. Wouldn't it do the same to you? Hate crimes cause more hate crimes. You can't get mad at someone for having hate towards someone that beat them for no reason.

No matter how much someone may deny it, a hate crime would affect them no matter how tough they are. People tend to try and get even when it happens to them, and then things can really get out of hand. The damage that is done to the people on the inside can never be reversed, and the worst part about hate crimes? When a hate crime happens to someone, they just become another statistic and nothing more.
