Why do most people always assume it was the man who cheated when a relationship breaks up?

Stereotypes affect our society in all kinds of ways, the number one way being in relationships. Ever since man was created, they were the scum. When it came down to it, the woman could do nothing wrong. About 20 years ago, this statement was probably about 80% true. Men were the ones that cheated, while the woman stayed at home with the kids being the cute housewife she was supposed to be.

Then women grew a backbone. We got tired of just sitting at home while the man had all the fun. Now, woman play men just as much as men play women. In fact, it has gotten so bad that a man who is ready to settle down will do anything once he is in love with a woman to show her that he loves her, and women love this. they tend to use these men, almost as a revenge to there past experiences and heartache's.

When a breakup occurs, the girlfriends of a woman automatically assume it is all the man's fault, and as much as i joke and tell my boyfriend that it is always his fault, reality is it isn't (don't tell him that though) History does repeat itself, cheating is still occurring all the time, only now, from my experiences, its the women who are cheating. Why? Because they can get away with it. They can cheat, break up with the man if and when he finds out, and still play the victim. Women have a way to always seem innocent no matter how guilty they truly are.

Women love that sense of playing dirty and seeing what they can get away with. Even if they love a man, at some point in there relationship, they are gonna think "Can i get away with this?" The reason women try to get away with cheating is because when it comes down to it everyone will naturally look down at the man when a breakup occurs. When anyone thinks of the stereotypical man in a breakup, they seem him as the stuck up player who cheated on his girl. When they they of the woman, they see the sweet innocent romantic girl who did nothing wrong but trust her man too much. Grant it, we might have been this way, in the 50's, but the song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" applies to every woman in this world at some point and aspect of there life.

And considering that people assume it is the man that does wrong because of how men are portrayed in the movies and in our society, why shouldn't women try and have a little bit of fun and revenge?
