Typical Results
Sales or future sales can occur at trade shows. Business track results from sales at the trade show and within a year of the sale. The other results come from finding suppliers. You can track this affect through benefits of new suppliers. The new suppliers can provide supplies or services at a more efficient means or at a lower cost. A business can factor the affect the supplier has on cost of doing business. With the compilation of this information, the business can after a period of time factor the affect of trade shows into basic plans, but there are many results not so tangible.
Intangible Results
There are many benefits of tradeshows that you might only know anecdotal. These may make a major influence on the business and can provide the most beneficial advantage to trade show participation.
Hidden advertising occurs at trade shows. The pens, pencils, and key chains travel around the world. A means to track one of these might be interesting, but probably more costly than advantageous. Some may see our signs and place it away in the mental file cabinet for recovery for them or as suggestion to others. The knowledge you can give is immeasurable.
Another factor of hidden advertising is to place yourself in a position for comparison with your competition. With this comparison, you can gain some knowledge of your competition. The cliche keep your friends close and your enemies' closer is truer in business. The knowledge found at a trade shows can be immeasurable. You can examine the market niche that you all are attracting. If you hold a sold piece of your market or can learn how to expand your niche, the trade show gave your information that could prove valuable. The tradeshow can provide allies.
Networking
One of the last affects of a trade show is the people you will meet at trade shows. Your booth will sit next to other groups who you will visit with during quiet times. In addition, you will wonder around the tradeshow during break period. Moreover, there will be orientation and set up meeting in which you will meet people. You will need suppliers, and personnel in the future and these people may play a part in the future of your business. The best employees come through network rather than by resumes received.
Tradeshows are expect and unexpected. A trade show purpose is exposure.
