Autumn Leaves


Silhouettes of miniature fingers
Gently floating from their
Arms of strength
Like the butterflies of spring
Released

Autumn leaves float through the day,

across a sky streaked with gray.

Streets littered in orange and brown,

fallen leaves

Red and gold

Leaves

Drifting

From naked tree limbs

As Autumn creeps towards 

Summer's end.

Reminds me of the colors
Orange pumpkins, yellow corn
