Do we really know what it means to be saved

I read a few of the articles on this topic and cannot figure out why there are no verses of Scripture mentioned. I John 5:13 says that "these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life. That word know means know! That means you can know! Jesus says in John 14:1-3 that He is preparing a mansion for us and if it was not so, He would not tell us it is so. When the Bible uses the term saved, It is talking about being saved from the wrath of hell. The opposite of hell is Heaven and the Bible tells us many times in many places that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.

We almost make eternal life out to be an obstacle course that nobody ever reaches and if we would just stop and realize there is a God in Heaven that loves us and that He gave us His only begotten Son so that we could go to Heaven, we would be much better off. The Bible says that God gave us each a measure of faith to believe in Him and be saved.

This question is almost like asking do we really know what a mother's love is like? Probably not if we are not a mother but we know it exists. I would never want to think I would go to hell because I had to understand everything 100%. There is not one person that will ever understand everything until we die and even then, maybe not everything will be clear. I believe that this question is really asking do we understand it all because the Bible says we can know how to be saved but we cannot comprehend the love of God and never will.

God wants us in Heaven! The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish. I live in Thailand as a missionary and don't speak Thai yet but use a translator and he is American and can speak Thai fluently. When I first met him, we witnessed to him many times and his answer was always the same: I don't understand! Finally, he got saved because we explained to him that if he died without Christ but was heavily thinking about it, he would still go to hell. This question sounds like Satan's question to Eve: "ye shall not surely die." Satan is the master of doubt and we need to recognize that when God says something, it's a done deal and being saved is a done deal if we put our trust in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the Cross.
