So you've put up a couple articles and they rated well against the masses, want a real challenge? The Helium Marketplace may have the answer your looking for. The Marketplace is well-known among publishers and many respected companies. These companies pay for articles of all types, ranging from product reviews to research papers. These tips will help you grasp some of the basics.
Think "empty title" bonus... It's all about law of a average. The lower the amount of articles in the topic, the better chances you have of yours being chosen. As the amount of money paid increases, naturally so does the number of applicants. I recommend starting small. and work on the easy ones to get a feel for it. Even if your articles don't get chosen, more often then not, they transition to the main site and receive a "kill-fee" bonus anyways, so you still make a little cash for your effort.
Write what you know... Another way to maximize profits on the Marketplace is to write to titles that you have a passion for. It's obvious when a writer isn't into what their writing. It can come off as stale, and stale is not what these folks are looking for. If you have an affinity towards a title or two on the Marketplace take your time with your submissions. Craft them. Make your words leap off the page. Ever notice how some articles have that a certain flow about them? That was because the author enjoyed writing it and knew about the subject. After all, nothing feels better or reads as well as a well-written, interesting article. And that's exactly what Helium is all about.
Write often... On any given day there is a wide selection of titles in available for you to write under. Because of Helium's deep contact with companies and organizations, the range of subjects is endless. Why not explore some things you really didn't know much about before? The marketplace is a great way to broaden your horizons and make a lot of money. As I mentioned earlier, everything is based off the law of average which says the more times you do something, the more likely you are to succeed. Once you feel comfortable with your style and have had some success, start writing to everything and anything.
And lastly, quality counts... I preach this in all of my articles about writing on Helium. Nothing will get your article deleted faster than poor quality. Spell checking and proof-reading are key. Make sure your grammar is correct and that the article makes sense. These are just common sense, but you cannot be successful with low quality. So double and triple check before submitting, it may mean the difference between a $100 bonus and no bonus.
