Vampires have always been a part of popular culture, as early as the middle ages, and whether we like them or not, we have to admit that there is a certain allure to a vampire, in this specific case, the mythical vampire.
Bram Stoker's Dracula movie adaptation was perhaps what caused vampires to have great popularity amongst the general public. The idea of immortality and eternal love attracts many of us, and the depiction that is made in the movie makes it impossible to stay indifferent to the whole subject.
The allure is easily explained if we take into consideration some relevant facts, which can be found almost everywhere in the world, in what vampires are concerned. First and foremost, the immortality which vampires have, and that we would also love to enjoy. This opens up a whole world of possibilities, from going round the world, to seeing mankind evolving more and more as the years go by. Also, the chance to turn someone else into a vampire, to have a companion with whom to spend immortality with, is something that many of us would look forward to. There's always the brides issue. The idea of having three women (and I'm talking about the men here) willing to do comply with our every desire, aiming to please us in every way they can, is something that, let's be honest here, every man wants.
Of course that there's always that dark aura going on with vampires, the mystery surrounding them, that makes people curious and always wanting to know more about them, from where they came to what they've done. Women feel attracted to this side of the vampire; it makes vampires look attractive in a way, and desirable.
Using Bram Stoker's Dracula as an example, the thought that someone would wait an eternity for them calls out to the most romantic side in a woman's heart. Let's face it; every woman hopes to have a man willing to do anything to be with her. And what could mean more to a woman than to have a man going to extremes to try and be with her forever? Of course that this is all theoretical, since there is no real evidence on the existence of vampires, real vampires that is.
And the final aspect of this allure towards vampires: the neck biting. How many of us enjoy nibbling on our partner's neck just for the fun? This is something I think all of us have done at some point in our lives. Now think about doing it to enable eternal life for your loved one. It takes on a whole new meaning now doesn't it?
