FaceBook is a social networking site where many people meet just to exchange comments about their lives and maybe play some games along the way. It depends on how deep you want to go with FaceBook as to whether it could become you ultimate dating service.

Here are some of the ways that FaceBook is quickly becoming the ultimate dating service:

You can quickly learn about someone's personality on FaceBook. Some people share a little bit too much information on sites like this, but at least you still get to know a little bit about them in the process. Some people are more likely to keep certain information about themselves private. The true personality will shine through eventually though.

You can now chat on FaceBook. There is an IM application that shows up at the bottom of the screen. You can talk for hours with someone to find out about them. If nothing more, you may at least make some new friends. If you are really lucky, you might find that special person you have been looking for all your life.

Private Messages

You can trade private messages back and forth without giving out your email address. There is an application that allows you to communicate just as you would with email but you can always block that person if you choose to later.

Getting To Know Their Friends

You can tell a lot about a person by the people they hang around with. You will be able to see who this person is friends with in real life and see how they interact with their friends to make a more informed decision than you could by going through a traditional dating site. In fact, you can't do that through a traditional dating service. FaceBook gives you the complete inside scoop about the person you are interested in.

FaceBook may well be on its way to being the ultimate dating service. You don't have to pay any money to join it. You can search thousands of people to find ones that interest you. You have more options for getting to know the person than you do with a traditional dating service as well. There are many advantages of using FaceBook as a dating service.

You should be very careful if you decide to meet someone from any online venue. You should check them out thoroughly first to make sure they are a safe bet. Always meet in a public place and never meet someone without someone else knowing where you are going and what you are planning on doing. This is a safety issue that you should always heed. You never know what can happen. It pays to be safe.
