With Halloween quickly approaching, time for planning a Halloween party is growing alarmingly short. But don't scream just yet! Get your guest list made, and review the following adult Halloween party ideas for an easy solution that will work for you and your friends. Save your screams for the fun Halloween night to come.
1) Invite the Undead
With recent hits like Twilight and True Blood, vampires have become even more of a Halloween favorite than ever, so putting together a last minute party for "the undead" should be relatively simple. At such last minute notice, keeping the costume options open to other creatures of the living dead like zombies, mummies, ghouls, ghosts, skeletons, and even witches will make it easier on your guests.
To decorate, deaden up your home quickly with cemetery decor, like gravestones and a coffin. You can purchase these, or make your own with Styrofoam or cardboard and spray paint. If you are lucky enough to have a fog machine, use it to create that misty, creepy cemetery vibe.
For food befitting the undead, serve finger foods, of course! Make some mini sandwiches and cut them into coffin or bone shapes with cookie cutters. At the center of the table have an edible delight, like Bloody Brains and Maggots, which is simply shrimp, cream cheese, cocktail sauce and crackers, or Flayed Face, for deli meat and cracker nibblers. To go with either choice, you can whip up some Creepy Deviled Eyeballs, and set fresh veggies around them, and then cut up breadsticks to look like witches' fingers and set them alongside a spinach dip. Easy dessert options include red velvet cupcakes with blackened icing (either vanilla or chocolate flavored), or blood red pudding (vanilla pudding mixed with raspberry jam). As for drinks, make some delicious sangria, or serve your standard punch and dye it red with food coloring. Having an extra cocktail specialty like a Bloody Mary available is a perfect treat.
During the party, keep the main area dimly lit with strings of Halloween lights, and have a mix of danceable music available from Muse to Halloween classics. Hand out bloody suckers (cherry lollipops) at the door, and if guests arrive without a costume to your last minute shindig, give
