Rainy days can be a blessing in disguise for bringing back romance in your relationship. When the weather is against you, it is a perfect excuse to reconnect and share some quality time with your partner. And there are plenty of things to do on a rainy day that can be heaps of fun.
For most people, the first thing that comes to mind when trying to come up with a plan for a rainy day is a watching movies. This choice is a classic rainy day activity, which can be done with anyone. However there are certainly ways to turn your typical movie marathon into a romantic movie 'date'. If you have ever been a gold class style cinema experience, you will know the luxury of having more than just popcorn and ice cream in the movies. Why not recreate this luxury experience in your own home, by preparing some delicious platter style nibbles, complete with cheese, crackers, dips and a fine wine. Team this with a movie genre you'll both enjoy. Preferably something with a hint of romance, to get you both in the mood for a long day of snuggling.
Rainy days are the perfect time to practice your culinary skills with your partner. Grab your favourite gourmet cookbook and pick three courses to make together for a romantic feast. You may need to duck out to get a few ingredients, but it will certainly be worth it. Perhaps one of you can do the entree and dessert, while the other prepares the main, or perhaps you want to share little tasks for each course the whole way through. It will be heaps of fun making a mess in the kitchen together and the end result of a big, tasty feast will put you both in the mood for loving.
Pull out some old fashioned board games and give them a naughty twist. Perhaps a game of strip poker or a bit of traditional twister, which will soon have you wanting each other faster than you can roll the dice. Even a good old game of Scrabble can be given a naughty twist. This will have you both laughing and having a total blast.
Another great option is to turn your house into a pamper parlour, and create a home day spa. Dim the lights (it will be dark outside even during the day if it's raining), light some scented candles and spend the day pampering each other. This may consist of taking turns in giving each other a full body massage, pedicures and manicures. These days even men love a bit of pampering, so you may even be able to convince him on trying a mud mask. Just make sure you end with the massage as it will put you both in the mood for romance.
If all else fails, there is nothing like a good sleep in on a rainy day. Use it as an excuse to stay in bed all day long with your partner, talking, snuggling and simply catching up on lost sleep together. You will love the fact that you have found someone who you can enjoy just being beside all day and some say you have not lived until you have spent a whole day relaxing in bed with the love of your life!
