How to download the wifi network for your iPod Touch

Use Wifi to connect to the internet using your IPod touch, and enjoy killing time again! The IPod touch is almost like having a pocket PC. Remember that connecting to the internet is the only thing making sitting in the dentist's office or sales meetings feasible. To finally have an MP3 player with 2 - 8 gigs of music, movies, audio books, and television is great. To be able to also surf the web with that same device is outstanding! The IPod touch does just that. This is how to quickly connect to the internet.

The IPod touch will connect to the last used Wifi network automatically. To turn on Wifi, go to settings press WiFi. If the same Wifi network is not found, a list of close available Wifi networks will come up. When the IPod touch connects to a network, a Wifi icon will glow at the top of the screen with the signal strength. The more bars, the better the reception. The IPod can be set to ask the user if they want to connect to a new network. It can also be set to be connected to a network manually.

There are many other places that offer free Wifi, besides your neighbor's house. Starbucks has a pay as you go plan. Some of these free locations are listed on a web site. http://www.wififreespot.com This site suggests stores like Barnes and Noble and Panera Bread as good free locations. Hotels and Motels offer Wifi, and some are free. Airports usually have a good Wifi signal, and we all know there can be some serious waiting there! Usually the spot most find themselves surfing the web is right on there couch.

If you are looking to stay off the grid, the connection can be encrypted by typing in the WEP code in the Settings section. If you cannot find the network that you are looking for it can be placed manually be going into Settings and then Other, and enter the network name. If the network requires a security code, go to Security and select the security that is to be used. Select Other Network, and enter the password.

With the internet available in so many places, there is no reason to be bored again! Here is a list of things that you might or might not find interesting to browse the next time a dentist has his foot on your chest and pliers in your mouth. Google, Yahoo, and MSN were the highest visited web sites in 2008. Yahoo Mail, Google Search, and GMail were the highest visited mobile web sites in 2008. These are good places to start, and there is always something interesting to read about, just look at the "Balloon Boy" story!

Enjoy your freedom of thought when you have to wait in stores, doctor's appointments, and childbirth (not your own child!). Enjoy always having at your finger tips a great reason to not talk to the annoying all around you! Connect your Ipod touch to a WiFi network with ease, and sail away!
