A busy kid is a happy kid and these fun Halloween games, for kids of all ages, are just the ticket for keeping them busy and creating big smiles and gales of laughter. Weather it's a party or just a family get together, kids of all ages will want to join in, and win, lose or draw you can be sure they'll be having fun.
*Trick Or Treat?
Write the name of a treat on a piece of paper, fold it in half and place it in a plastic pumpkin. Next, write an action that must be performed such as sing like a punk rocker, dance like a ballerina, recite a nursery rhyme with feeling, stand on your head, turn a somersault, crow like a rooster and so on. Place these in the pumpkin too.
At the party, have each child draw a paper from the pumpkin and either win the treat on the paper or do the required action to receive a treat. Get ready for some side splitting laughter!
*Dress The Witch Contest
This games requires a black slip, X-large black hose, large black boots, a black shirt, a black skirt, a black cape, a black wig, a black hat and a broom. Each kid must put on the complete list of clothing in the correct order and mount the broom, while they are being timed. The one with the best time wins.
*Bats In The Cauldron
Cut bats with outstretched wings from craft foam. Place a black plastic cauldron (or large pot) on the floor and allow each kid to toss the bats into the pot from behind a line. Practice the game before the party, so you will know where to place the line. The kid with the most bats in the pot wins.
*Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Give each kid a pumpkin and a set of colored markers. At the word "Go" all the kids start to decorate his/her pumpkin. At the end of ten minutes everyone votes for the scariest, cutest, oddest and funniest pumpkins. You can add enough categories so everyone wins.
*Zombie Relay
In this game everyone must walk stiff legged and with their arms straight out in front of them. No knees or elbows can bend. Divide the kids into two teams. Place half of each team in a line across the room from their team mates.
Each kid has a spoon in his/her hand with an olive in it. The idea of the game is to get the olive across the room and into a team members spoon without dropping it. If they drop it they must return to the start and get a new olive. When all the team members on a team have done this, the game ends.
*Halloween Words
Give each kid a pen and a piece of paper with the word "Halloween" written on it. Start a timer and allow ten minutes for each kid to write down as many words as they can, using the letters in the word "Halloween" without using any letter more than once. The kid with the most words wins.
*How Many Bones
Cut bone shapes from craft foam and place them in a large jar. Cut large bones and small bones too. As kids arrive, have them write down how many bones they think are in the jar and write it down. At the party's end, pour out the bones and count them. Check to see which kid was the closest and that is the winner.
*Scavenger Hunt
This game can be played inside or out. Hide a wide array of objects such as different kinds of candy, orange things, bats, skeletons, ghosts, bones and small plastic Halloween picks. Make a list of what you have hidden and give a list to each kid. Be sure the kids know what the boundaries are and let the hunt begin. The kid who finds the most items, wins.
There you are, eight fun Halloween games for kids of all ages. Inexpensive and action filled, these games will keep the kids entertained for hours.
