To prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12)
We, as believers whether we attend a church or not are ALL part of the body of Christ. This verse says that we, God's people are being prepared for works of service and that we ALL must unite in faith. Many churches today teach a different way of faith other than simply following the bible. I, as a faithful Christian have found that not going to Church and learning from the bible myself , benefits me far better than going to a Church and not knowing if they are twisting the scriptures to fit their needs at the present time. I am able to decipher what God is trying to tell me quietly without being clouded by what the Church wants me to know. There is a big difference there. When you take the time to learn on your own, you are able to feel God and what real truth is. If you happen to pick the wrong church to go to, you will have the real truth distorted and twisted into what they want you to believe it is; not what Jesus wants you to believe.
In Matthew 16 Jesus makes an astonishing declaration when He says, "I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it or prevail against it." This verse says that the gates of Hades will not be able to bring it down. Obviously Jesus was not talking about a church location or local organization because many churches are brought down in defeat every week right here in the United States of America because of greed, perversion and lies. I do not want to be a part of anything other that the true meaning of God and you do not always get that true meaning by attending a Church. Though many people do go to church to learn and pray; nowhere in the New Testament does it tell us that we MUST attend a Church to be a true Christian. Doing God's word and just speaking it are total opposites. Some people start spouting off a lesson learned at church to make you think they are doing God's work. I benefit by not going to Church and learning on my own what Jesus expects of a True Christian and then I do my best to fulfill His expectations. What Jesus says He expects of a Christian is not what we do IN a Church Building but what we accomplish OUTSIDE of the Church building. Mathew 25:35-40, for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something
