Corrupted Minds

Rumors spread from ear to ear.
Laughing trees that only grass can hear.
Whispers and lies amongst the fire flies.
Anger and hatred behind horses eyes.

As the sun begins to rise, it awakens the wise.

Rain falls from the sky, as
innocent babies cry.

So busy caught up in gossip and lies,
a mother bird sings as her only child dies.

Leaves now brown,
deep in their sorrows they drown.

Blue skies turn gray.
A colorful world made of black clay.

Minds now corrupted, a war has erupted!

Brothers against brothers,
sisters against sisters.
Hearts now hardened, and hands full of blisters.

Rumors spread, whispers full of lies,
will you stand with the flies
or take heed to the words of the wise?

Will this war ever end?
Will we have peace and love again?!

Rumors will continue to spread
and gossip will seek to find a listening ear,
but we make the choice to choose
what we will and will not hear...
