What is the purpose, motive and intent of humanity?
I like to think of life as the one greatest gift mankind has ever been given. I believe life comes from a higher power, which I like to refer to as God Almighty. I refuse to even get into a debate as to where God came from or how he got here. It's no different than believing evolution; you have to ask where did the first single cell thing-a-ma-jig come from? That very first beginning thing is the same quandary for whatever belief one has, so it doesn't affect the outcome anyway.
For the sake of argument, let's say God is the source of life; he envisioned it, developed it, created it and gave it to mankind. Now, why would he do such a thing? What is his purpose? I try to mentally put myself into God's environment when I answer this question. If that were me, why on earth would I want to put little people on my beautiful earth?
I am going to propose an answer that may not sound reasonable to many of you and it may sound like a joke to others. Believe me, I do not joke about God or his intentions. I really think what I am going to say has some merit when it comes to the question of what is the purpose of humanity; it helps me better understand it all anyway.
God can have anything, do anything, be anything, whatever, he simply "can." He is ultimate power and will. He has a following of angelic entities that is biblical, no pun intended. What more can he want? What more could he even envision? He could envision his own little experimental ant farm.
Yes, I liken humanity to an ant farm. An ant farm I can understand, I can see it and touch it. This way I can take an untouchable concept and bring it down to my level to work with. I have an idea that God wanted companionship. He wanted to construct a little world and populate it with beings that resembled him so he could watch and study them. He built the earth.
The real purpose of humanity started out to be nothing more than entertainment for God. He just wanted to see what a thinking, reasoning being would do in a place as beautiful and excellent as the Garden of Eden. For a test he placed on obstacle in that Garden. Everything else was available to man except that one tree; the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
You know how you might build a pile of sand in front of the ant's pathway just to see how he would work around it? Well, that's what God was doing with Adam and Eve. He wanted to see how they would deal with not being able to have everything. Remember, these were two people who were totally pure in DNA and totally without sin. They had command over every living thing and the world was laid at their feet. They were simply not used to being told NO.
God did not want man to know about evil. He wanted him to be pure and sanitized. Once man partook of the tree, however, his eyes were opened. Satan entered and was given the opportunity to work his black magic with man's thinking, reasoning mind. God's experiment had taken a turn for the worse right out of the gate. He didn't anticipate such disobedience so rapidly, but there it was.
That act of insolence gave God a bigger idea; much grander than an ant farm. He thought about populating the entire world, letting man progress by his own devices and develop his own society to wherever it may take him. He thought about making good available to man but at the same time make evil available as well. Which way would man go? On such a grand scale as a fully populated world, what would man do?
God's motive was to see if the reasoning ability he gave to his little creatures would serve them properly or not. Would man be able to see the pain in sin and would he stay with the righteous pathway? Would man make the right decisions and treat his gifts accordingly?
Now, some would say God already knows exactly who is going to do what and when. I beg to differ with this concept. I see no reason for God to place me on earth if he already knows I am doomed. It does not serve his purpose. He is testing his little creatures to see what we would do in certain circumstances. If he already knew, then why would he bother to go through with the test?
If God already knows who is going to be saved then why wait so long? Let's just jump ahead however many years it is going to be and get it done with. I think God puts us all on earth with the same opportunities. What we do with our few moments in this world is up to us. We can recognize God and serve him or we can recognize the pleasures of the world and serve Satan. It's a choice, that's why God gave us the decision making ability.
God's purpose for humanity is to give him something to occupy his time. The motive, or reason, for humanity continuing after the great breakdown in Eden is to test his creation in many different settings and scenarios. The intention of humanity is to raise a new following of grateful and loving followers to continue to love and worship their creator.
I could see that. If I were God, I could see myself doing something like that. I thank God that God sees it that way as well. Thank you God for this life and for your undying patience.
