Holloween time can be cash consuming. Candy, costumes, decorations, and supplies for a party can empty your wallet quickly. You can't do much candy-wise, making your own costume can be difficult and party supplies always need money. However you can definately make decorations yourself. There are many decorations you can make that are easy, quick, simple, and fun.
Bats are simple to make. All you really need is some black paper and scissors. Using any type of paper draw out your bat design. Doing something similar to the bat signal isn't much work. Now all you have to do is cut out and cut out and keep cutting. To be efficient, stack maybe 5-10 papers at a time and cut SLOWLY. Before you know it you have a ton of bats to tape/pin up anywhere in your home.
Another cutout idea is the pumpkin. Though if your not careful your pumpkins can look like shabby apples. You don't want that. At any rate if your brave enough try your luck at the pumpkin. When you get your design down, add some detail. Grab a pen and put curved vertical lines for the grooves in the pumpkin. Don't forget the stem.
If for some reason you have cotton lying around that can be GREAT. Fog and smoke effects are always associated with holloween. Putting a ton of cotton rising up from the floor can give the illusion of a grim fog rolling in. Putting this cotton too high may give the look of clouds. Clouds blocking out the sun can be gloomy but it's not right for holloween.
Skeletons may be a bit hard to make on your own but no one says you can't make a ghost. One of the simplest things to make are mini-ghosts. Grab a handkerchief or a large napkin and put it any kind of stick-like object. Even a pen would work. Make a opening for the head and tie it around its imaginary neck. You now have a head and a looming body from a pen and a napkin. These are great for your desk at work, a door or even as a border on a door frame.
A bigger ghost can be made from a white table cloth or even a sheet. Naturally you can't use a pen but a larger stick-like object will work.
The ideas you just read are simple, easy, and very quick to make. You your creativity and wow people with your home made decorations!
