Mister Cat's mustache

Mister Cat had the biggest mustache
of all the cats in the world
till the day Ray decided he would look better
without any mustache at all.

So he took a sharp scissor
and cut one whisker
and Mister Cat cried "Help!"
but nobody was there,
the cat was all alone
so Ray cut one more
and one more
and one more
till his mother came
and rescued the cat
and sent Ray to his room

and told him: "The cat will be gone.
I will send him where no boy
can touch his mustache again,
to the Cat Kingdom, far.. far-away!"

That night, on Ray's face,
a mustache grew
and grew
and grew
till it touched the walls of his room
and went out of the window
and Ray flied away
and he passed over cities and forests
over lakes and oceans
until he reached the Cat Kingdom, far far-away.

He landed and asked:
"Have you seen Mister Cat?
The cat with the biggest mustache
of all the cats in the world!"

Big cats jumped from their cat houses, up in tall trees,
and swishing their tails, they told him
he is welcome to stay and look for his cat
if he can play
the fierce game of hunting the prey.

That night the prey was the moon
and all cats jumped, meowing and hissing,
and leaped, growling and grunting,
but the moon escaped
till Ray flew after a cloud
and waited
and waited
and when the moon passed by,
quick! he swirled his mustache around it
and caught the moon as his prey.

Then he was allowed to look for Mister Cat.
He flied from one cat house to another
and looked under the beds
and under the chairs
but Mister Cat was nowhere in sight.

All the cats came to help
and looked under the beds
and under the chairs
till they found him
brushing his tail.

And Ray took him in his arms
and flied far, far-away
over cities and forests,
over lakes and oceans
till he was in his room
and putting the cat on his bed
he saw that Mister Cat still had
the biggest mustache
of all the cats in the world.
