Men - How Your Weight, Health, and Style are Related

No matter where you live or who you are, you probably know that style isn't just about your clothes and your hair, but also your weight. Though the days of heroin chic are gone, with jutting hip bones and sunken eyes, it is still very much in vogue to watch your weight. And we aren't talking about just the ladies! It is extremely important for men to watch their weight as well.

Guys, staying fit and trim does mean watching your weight but it doesn't just mean staying thin. If you go too far, you could become underweight, which is not stylish either. And watching your weight is so much more than just looking good, it's about feeling good as well. When you feel good, you will feel like you have the power to rule the world!

Just think about it, if you look and feel good you are well on your way to that much needed make over. If you look and feel healthy, chances are you will wear your clothing better, feel better about yourself, and maybe even an awesome first impression - on the ladies, on the boss, on the client! The first step in achieving style and confidence is by taking control of your body and watching your weight.

First of all, watching your weight is an important part of staying healthy. If you don't weigh enough, you might experience bone loss, fatigue, and anemia. If you are overweight you can put a strain on your heart, joints, and have a higher risk of stroke. These reasons alone are probably good enough for you to start seriously watching your weight.

When you pay attention to your weight, think about what your Body Mass Index (BMI) is. The BMI will vary from age, race, and gender. There are some very simple calculations using your height and weight to figure your BMI. (Very few men who don't pay any attention to their weight are spot on with their BMI initially.)

Getting plenty of exercise and watching what you eat is an excellent way to watch your weight and achieve the ideal BMI. It's also not as hard as you think to achieve. Here are some simple tips to help you along the way:

* Walk a little extra - park the car at the far end of the parking lot.
* Take the stairs. Move around - take a quick, brisk walk at lunch.
* Eat smaller portions.
* Eat steamed, boiled, roasted, or baked foods.
* Stay away from fried. Avoid fatty foods.

Watching your weight is really one of the first steps in achieving style. You know that how you look is important, both professionally and personally, so why take the chance? A great way to learn all about how you can get the style that you need, easily and without hassle, is by talking not only to your doctor but perhaps meeting with a personal trainer and doing plenty of research. Remember, the healthier you are, the better you will feel about yourself and that is directly correlated to the success in life you will have!
