Irritation sets in,
A needle of anger just under the skin.
The need to control, no longer a theory.
He has become restless and weary.
Sounds grow louder,
Inspire the hate to flow.
Colors pale to dull
and life is no longer beautiful.
A stack of unpaid bills evokes new sighs
and he explodes with an outburst of 'Why I?''s.
He pushes it all back and closes his eyes.
Perhaps, in the morning, he will become wise.

It's like static on the radio,
this constant white noise keeps me awake,
there's no switch to turn it off,
I feel my past behind me, clawing at my spine
but when I turn to face my foe, I see a narrow line
