Poetry: Suffering

by Kayla Weller

Created on: October 19, 2009

Irritation sets in,
A needle of anger just under the skin.
The need to control, no longer a theory.
He has become restless and weary.

Sounds grow louder,
Inspire the hate to flow.
Colors pale to dull
and life is no longer beautiful.

A stack of unpaid bills evokes new sighs
and he explodes with an outburst of 'Why I?''s.

He pushes it all back and closes his eyes.
Perhaps, in the morning, he will become wise.
