Oregon is an ideal state for singles to live. There is so much to do and see, something for everyone, so to speak. From the mountains, to the ocean, to the desert, to the valley...and so much in between. Oregon is truly a state that has an abundance of different climates, regions, and lifestyles available. There are places for both those who love the single life and want to keep it just the way it is, as well as for those who are looking for love. All one needs to do is decide what you are looking for and come on up to this northwestern state to find it.
For those who are seeking a life of excitement and round the clock action, Portland is the place to go. The lights of the "City of Roses" will welcome you home and no matter who you are or what your lifestyle, you will fit right in. There is so much to see and do, and this city is situated on the beautiful Willamette River for the water lovers. There are festivals, shows, markets, exhibits, galleries, night clubs, sports events, concerts, and so much more. A single person need never be bored on a weekend night (or a weekday, for that matter) when they select Portland as their new home.
Those who want to choose a home where the peacefulness of nature is in abundance and you can just settle in for a life of adventure when you want it and relaxation when you want that, there are several great options. The beach lover can head over to Tillamook, Seaside, Lincoln City, Newport, or Pacific City. Mount Hood is a perfect spot for the skier or snowboarder. Bend and the surrounding areas are the high desert lover's dream. These are all beautiful places, full of friendly people and and things to see and do.
For the college student that is single, there are some great schools in Oregon. For the two most popular, you will want to look into Eugene or Portland. These are the homes of the highly competetive and rival football teams, the Ducks and the Beavers. Of course, McMinnville is a growing community which has Linfield College, a highly rated school and Newberg has George Fox University, one of the best in the nation.
The single wine connesieur will love heading into Oregon's "wine country", full of vineyards and tasting galleries. There are elegant areas as well as more small town living. These are found in the valley regions. The small town of Dundee is an especially upcoming area for the wine country lover, as is Amity where the monks live and make some amazing bottles.
There are many singles that are looking for an area that is more "artsy" and "eclectic". The rather small community of Silverton is the perfect spot for you. It is also home to the Oregon Gardens, Silver Falls, Silver Creek running through town, and a historic downtown complete with a covered bridge and gorgeous murals. Coffee shops abound where you can sit back, relax, and meet some of the friendliest people in the state.
For the single person looking to relocate, Oregon is an excellent choice. As you can see, there are plenty of places to see, things to do, and warm, welcoming people to meet. Check out some of the areas that might appeal to you and the lifestyle you are looking for. There is almost certainly somewhere you will love to live in this state.
