Title: Deciding to leave
Article: I loved you
i loved you as long as i was able
to give without ever getting back
i was as understanding as i could be
without ever being heard
i stood behind you for so long
that you forgot that i was there
i believed your every lie
and that you were always right
until the fragment of my spirit
would not be silenced any longer
i had so much faith in you
that i had none in my self
i tried so hard to make you happy
and never could succeed
i was failing you on purpose
to try to make you see
and i did not even know it
until i was away from you
i could not be who you wanted
because i could not be myself
i could not do the things you wanted
because i needed more
and to keep myself from realizing
i failed at every task you asked
because even if i was perfect
it was still never enough
nothing that i did was
all you ever wanted
and i did not matter
except for when i failed
all the other things i did
you always overlooked
until i was invisible,
especially to me
