The growth in the internet has ensured that there is an ever increasing demand for information and writing to fill up webpages. This demand has been a boon for the freelance writer, and as most website owners will have neither the time nor inclination to write new articles, they will seek to hire in the skills of others. The website owners may advertise on sites as Getafreelancer.com or they may go direct to a number of writing sites such as Helium.com..
There is an abundance of writing sites to which the freelance writer can write their articles, and although the majority of such sites are legitimate, some have restrictions about who they will pay. Many article writing sites for instance will only pay to residents of the United States, the likes of eHow and Gather, and so international writers will lose out. There are though some legitimate sites that will pay international writers for articles.
Helium-
Easily the best of all article writing sites, Helium is open to all writers who can achieve the necessary writing standards. There are numerous ways for international writers to earn at Helium. Writers can earn daily revenue share, based on page views, as long as they have one rating star. This revenue share can add up depending on the number, and popularity of the articles. Rating also has another monetary benefit as for those who accumulate five rating stars will also receive a USD3 bonus at the end of the month. Helium also pays upfront payments for articles, an amount that is determined by the number of writing stars, in essence though for each article a one star writer will gain USD0.50 whilst a writer with five stars will gain USD2.50. Helium also pays a further USD1 for writers who are first to write to a topic. Additional payments can also be earned by writing to Marketplace articles, and also by articles picked up as stock items.
Associated Content-
Associated Content is the prime example of why international writers should always read the terms and condition before they sign up for a writing site. Associated Content is one of the largest of all article writing sites, and yet for the international writer, the site may not be as inviting as it first appears. Whilst Associated Content operates in a similar way to Helium, upfront payments are only paid the US writers, international writers will only receive daily revenue share for page views.
Bukisa-
Bukisa.com is one of the article writing sites that has gained in popularity in recent months. The idea of Bukisa is similar to Associated Content and Helium, although payment is derived solely from page views rather than upfront payments.
Squidoo-
There are also a number of sites that will host article, although are they are not strictly speaking article writing sites. These sites include the likes of Hubpages and Squidoo. Squidoo operates on the basis of a user creating a number of individual webpages based around one subject. This could mean that each page is an article but could also be a page with links to items for sale, pictures and other articles.
There are many other article writing sites that will pay international writers, including the likes of Triond, Constant Content, Xomba and Reviewstream.
The amount of money that international writers can earn is limited only by the time and effort that a writer is willing to put in. Some careful consideration of course needs to be paid to just which article writing sites are being submitted to, so that earning potential is maximised. Effort can be split between any of the international paying sites, but equally putting all of the effort into one site, such as Helium, can result in a health income for any international writer.
