Most girls between the ages of 2 and 12 absolutely love Hannah Montana. They faithfully watch the show, staring Miley Cyrus and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. Hannah Montana toys and accessories take up much of their birthday and Christmas lists, so it is no surprise when your daughter wants to be Hannah Montana for Halloween.
Although there are several costumes out there that you can purchase, you really don't have to pay that price when you can easily put together an outfit that will make you daughter shine as Hannah Montana. In most cases, your daughter considers herself Hannah's biggest fan so she probably already has many of Hannah Montana's items that could be used for a costume. If not, putting together the costume is that difficult.
The long, flowing, blonde hair is a staple of Hannah Montana. Unless your child already has this type of hair, you will need to buy a wig. Some wigs can be expensive from $14.00 to $48.99. However, Make Believe Costumes has a wig for only $8.50.
Hannah Montana has her own line of clothing available at Wal-Mart. Any outfit from that line will work. How much more authentic can you get than clothes designed by Hannah Montana? Your child will also be able to wear the outfit beyond Halloween.
If you are on a budget and can't afford to buy a new outfit, then there are other options. Have your child wear a pair of jeans and a tank top with a short jean jacket over it. Try choosing clothing with sparkles or any kind of bling, bling to it. If she doesn't have any, consider adding sequins or investing in a Bedazzler. Even consider her wearing a dress that has a ruffle skirt to about mid-thigh with a pair of tights. Add a pair of heels and the clothing part of either outfit is good to go. If you don't want your child wearing heels, consider having her wear boots instead.
Jewelry is a must for any Hannah Montana costume. Add bold bracelet to give a pop star affect. Look for some earrings for your child. Stars seem to be a favorite design for the diva. If her ears aren't pierced, there are plenty of clip on styles to choose from. Claire's is a jewelry store that caters to these needs. To find a location near you, visit their website. You could also consider a microphone headset from a toy karaoke machine to help complete the look.
Don't forget the makeup. What pop star goes without make up? This particular pop star is all about glam and glitter. Consider applying body glitter first and foremost. Next add some pink or purple lip gloss. Accent the eyes with purple, turquoise, or pinks to make the eyes pop. Adding a little eyeliner may help, but some girls can get away with just a touch of mascara.
Let your child choose her own style and the freedom to be creative in assembling this pop star's outfit. Besides, she probably knows Hannah Montana better than you do. With all of the Hannah Montana's out and about on Halloween, letting your child have a hand in the costume design will set her apart from all the other impersonators out there on Halloween.
