The best part of an iPod Touch, or any other iPod for that matter is the fact that it can play almost any audio file, and thus audio-books are also included in this. Audio-books in themselves are a great thing, as people not accustomed to reading can listen to the books instead at their convenience, and now that we are able to transfer it to an iPod, it is now possible to carry around many audio-books around with you anywhere, and listen to them at leisure. So how can we transfer these audio-books to our iPod touch? Well first:
Download your audio book
Audio books are available for purchase at many websites around the Internet, the best being Amazon, but purchasing and downloading an audio-book is also an available option in the Apple store, which can be accessed through iTunes (For more information on downloading audio from the iTunes store click here). Once we have successfully downloaded our audio book:
Connect your iPod to your PC
Use the iPod touch cable to to connect the iPod to the computer terminal, and then connect the cable to the iPod touch. By default, iTunes should open up and do a customary sync. Our next step is to make sure that our audio book is listed in the library (if you have a newer version of iTunes, then it is already added in the library).
Sync your iPod
Now that we have done all the preliminary steps, we move on to the actual transfer. Select your iPod Touch in the iTunes left hand side menu, and move to the music tab. here, select "sync all music" and click on the Sync button. Since most audio-books are sufficiently large, this might take a while. As soon as the sync is complete, you can click on the little eject icon next to your iPods name, and then disconnect it from the computer. Now scroll to your Audiobook menu, and you can see it listed there, selct it, and play it.
And now you may listen to as many audio-books as you please, and at any time that you wish. Remember to always buy your audio-books, and not illegally download them, and do not buy them on pirated CD's. Remember, piracy is a crime. Alternatively, royalty free audio-books are also available, and some authors give away a certain number of audio-books away for free, why not give them a shot?
