Wily old cat awakes from his nap,
stretches and lets out a mew.
No one is home; he's all alone
with fantasy about to come true.
High on the sideboard,
safe in a cage,
feathered fowl morsel;

Calculating the distance
from floor to chair;
well within reach,
with one leap in the air.
Window of opportunity
deems him a winner,
satisfied feline
enjoying his dinner.
Licking his whiskers,
when what does he spy,
there on the table
in front of his eyes?
Circling the bowl,
silent, fishy flirt.
One strike of the paw,
Ahh . . . golden dessert.
Upon returning home,
owner glances around;
the house is in order,
all's safe and sound.
Things are not always
the way that they seem.
Cat's fantasy come true,
was all just a dream.

Elegant yet terrifying
My minions obey my

Oh, tweety tweety
How yummy you must be
Flitting from tree to tree
Busy as a bee
I wish I can fly

Birds lift landing gear,
take off. Cats chatter at the
window: "I fly too!"
