There are many areas of Helium that you can write too, and there are many different styles that are required of you. You wouldn't write a finance article the same way you would write a humor article. You also wouldn't write a poem the same way you would write a reflection essay. There are so many styles of writing that you have to really poke around and figure out what your style of writing is.

You probably already have some idea of what your writing style is before you even get started, so you are going to have some idea of where you want to write. The key is to knowing what areas of Helium you are really going to do your best work in, and the first thing is to figure out what you like to write. Do you like to write articles or stories? If you like stories, a creative writing endeavor might be best for you.

However, if you like to write something a little less technical, and you like to speak from experience, I would say you should write something in the Relationships & Family channel. Maybe you might want to write a few articles in the customer management sub-channel if you want to tell your horror story about the customer from hell that you had yesterday.

These articles differ greatly from the Personal Finance channel articles. These should be more math inclined, and you should use more symbols and factual information. You should always use good facts, but the readers aren't going to be impressed about your analysis of the economy if you can't back it up with decent math, or some scenarios from the past to back up your theories.

You should also figure out what style you like to write in. Do you like to be conversational in your writing, or do you prefer to be serious, and to the point? This might influence what types of articles you write, and what kinds of titles that you look for. You might prefer to write something about the inner workings of the mind as opposed to why video games are so much fun. Not to be stereotypical, but you might prefer one set of articles over another depending on how you write.

Knowing your style is going to really help you when you write for Helium. If you aren't sure, you should just write a bunch of articles, and then see what you are writing the most about, and how the articles are doing. If you end up doing better money wise in money articles, keep that up. If you are getting better rankings from your Helium articles about Helium, you should keep up with those. Remember, stick to what makes money, is fun for you, and keeps those rating and writing stars for you.
