OLD DAD

Daddy got a brand new home for Christmas,

Higher than 'Old Santa' dared to fly,

He accepted his invitation,

To the celebration in the by and by,

Although I will miss him at the table,

Old Dad's having supper with the King,

Although I wish I could be with him,

I'll be close to Old Dad when I sing,

Daddy always loved to hear our music,

Sometimes he even played along,

Still I wonder how many knew that,

This was my daddy's favorite song.

"There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus,

No not one, no not one,"

There'll be no more hard times to burden,

There'll be no more hopeless tear shed,

And there'll be no tomorrow's to worry,

Just the happiness that he deserved instead,

Although I will miss him at the table,
