Long-distance love: Celebrating Valentine's Day from afar

It's hard when the one you love isn't with you at the moment. Long distance relationships can put a strain on things, especially during Valentine's Day. Relationships are built off a number of things, trust, interaction, and attraction. If you take interaction out of the group all you have one third missing from your relationship.

Now on top of all that strain you now have to celebrate Valentines Day apart from one another. It's not fun to sit alone on the phone with someone you love, and not be able to wrap your arms around them and just be together.

Valentines day is kind of a faulty holiday to begin with, but to have someone to share it with and not be able to sucks. You feel the empty space within you, and there is no taking it away, because all you want is to be with the one you love the most, and you can't.

Things you can do to make it seem less painful to be away from your significant other, well you could just spoil yourself. Get together with you friends during the day while they're free, go to a spa or the big game, shop, go to a park whatever you want. Then when evening hits and you find yourself alone, get in the car and go to your favorite fast food place.

Now that you've got the goods, get home put on your favorite movie and call the one you wish you could be with. You still be a little down there, but at least you didn't rot all day. You faced the pain full force and then got up and did something fun. You have a life outside of your lover and you have to embrace it.
