Celebrating Valentine's Day from afar is pretty much an exercise in painful futility. The point of Valentine's Day is to spend time with your sweetheart, so if you are not together, what's the point? In these cases, you just want to arrange an alternative Valentine's Day, preferably one where you are together.
But if you simply must put yourself through the frustration, you can follow these simple steps to commemmorate the day.
1.) Order flowers delivered; if you have loads of cash, have two separate deliveries made at different parts of the day.
2.) Arrange a time to get online with your sweetheart and have a nice webchat. Isn't it great what we can do with technology these days?
3.) Send an e-card along with maybe a gift certificate for some kind of clothing. Be sure to tell your significant other to buy something nice and that he/she will have to model it upon your reunion.
4.) Understand that long-distance love is a fool's game and that you need to get the heck out of dodge as soon as possible.
