Poetry: Money

by Katherine Miller

Created on: October 15, 2009

Money

In a song, a sonnet, a poem or a story

It does not go unnoticed what it stands for

A symbol, a status of wealth, need and greed

A necessity, a want that we all ultimately need

Be it the root of all evil, I truly think not

For that would mean it was here before God

It makes no sense to say this is true

For every human has had it, even me and you too

Money

We work for it, toil for it day through the night

We dream of the millions that will make our lives right

But most of us know not, how to use it best

If it were to fall into our lives and upon our hands rest

Use it wisely if you have the opportunity to

As it will deliver such goodness, and bring everything twofold to you

But if you use if unwisely be warned

Money will destroy you and fill your entire life with scorn.
