The worst fashion advice anyone could give you is to "dress your age"; usually, that advice is focused at forty-year-old women who wear their teenage daughter's low-cut, faded jeans. But some women really take that advice to heart. They think that dressing your age means to dress like a mom in your thirties and forties, and when they become a grandmother, they think it's time to dress like an old lady.
Ideally, the best fashion advice for a mother or grandmother is to: A) dress appropriately, and B) dress for your shape. It's not written anywhere that you have to become a frumpy mess the second you turn thirty-five - - or even fifty-five. You're still young. Don't think about your age when picking out jeans. Think about what looks best on you. Avoid anything with pleats and keep your eye only on what's stunning. However, there is a rule: avoid light-colored denim. Light colored denim is hard for even teenagers to pull off; it's impossible once you it thirty. Instead,
