Up is a movie about love, hope and dreams. About keeping promises and finding adventure. About it never being too late to do something you really want to do.

It's the story of an old man who sets out on a quest to visit a place in South America that his late wife always wanted to visit, ever since she was a little girl. He attaches thousands of helium balloons to his house and makes his house float. He sets up a system to steer it in the correct direction. It's an impressive, innovative idea that this old man undertakes to fulfill the promise he made to the love of his life before he can be taken away to an old age home.

On the way, he ends up with an eight year old boy scout for a helper and a companion. He meets a wide variety of jungle creatures, including a large, colourful bird, and a pack of dogs with specially designed collars, which enable them to communicate with humans. He also discovers that the man whom he and his wife always looked up to as a hero is, in fact, an evil, scheming man. He finds himself in precarious situations, but he manages to hang on to hope, the hope that he will be able to fulfill his wife's cherished childhood dream, even if it costs him his house, which, eventually, it does. But he ends up having a wonderful adventure and making a friend or two along the way.

The is a movie about finding a way to do things you really want to do. About following dreams, and doing things for those whom you hold dear. And that you are never too old to chase your cherished dreams. About finding out that the dream you always dreamt or the hero you always idolised may not always turn out to be as great as you thought it would be, but you might just end up with something nicer.

It's a cute, adorable movie for kids on the surface, with a message for all of us within. We all stand to learn a thing or two from it, and incorporate it into our own lives. It has all been set into a lovely, sweet and simple story that anyone can understand and portrayed wonderfully well.

This is a movie which has something for everyone, irrespective of their age.
