Is online shopping a better way to shop?

Yes

by Marcy Buzzelli

Where else can I find a K-tel knitter at 1:30 in the morning besides going online? Whether I want something as odd as a knitter, as rare as an out-of-print book, or as common place as a pair of sneakers, online websites always have limitless products available 24/7. Since I have never been fond of shopping malls or even quaint little gift boutiques, online stores are fantastic because no one asks, "May I help you?"

For reluctant shoppers like I am who attack buying like a battle to be won, not having to deal with pushy store clerks, or high school students who do not want to be working, online shopping is pure pleasure. Sitting at the computer late at night in my comfy bathrobe, with a soothing cup of tea at hand, beats fighting crowds of disgruntled unpleasant mall walkers any day! When I venture into a store, I am rarely just looking around; I usually have one specific item in mind. If I need a new pair of black slacks, you will not find me wandering around looking at the jewelry counters or the latest collection of 3-inch heels on display in the shoe department!

Are you beginning to see why I think that online shopping is so fantastic? I love being able to go to just one store's website, find their search box, and type in the one item I need! I do not have to waste my time looking through an entire mall to buy just one pair of black slacks. I am well aware that some people love to browse malls looking for that one perfect item. That is not me! I prefer to sip a cup of tea while clicking on a mouse! For those who want to browse, however, the online possibilities are infinite.

Another reason that online shopping is so appealing to me is that there are some super cheap prices to be found on the web. For those mall bargain hunters who like the thrill of the chase for the best deal around, your hunting instincts can be well used on the Internet. Nothing makes a reluctant shopper like me smile more than finding the exact item I need at a reduced price. Chasing down that one elusive Christmas item for the friend, who is impossible to buy for, is a lot easier sitting in a comfortable chair with a laptop and a glowing fireplace. Why would anyone think that the alternative of tromping through a slushy, snow-covered mall parking lot is better?
