Why some people should not have a credit card

Credit cards help us get the things we want right away. If you don't have enough money at the time, you can just pull out your credit card and charge it. That's not a good idea for everyone. Some people just shouldn't have credit cards. Those are the people that have no idea how to handle their finances.

Here are some of the reasons that some people should not have credit cards:

Charging to the limit- If you are the type that will keep your credit card maxed out, it is not wise for you to have one. Charging your cards to the limit isn't a good idea. It doesn't leave you any leeway if you have an emergency. You will also go over the limit if you don't pay your bill in time. That is because you will be assessed late charges. You will then have to pay the minimum balance plus the late fee.

Don't make enough money- If you don't make enough money to pay your credit card bills, you don't need to have a card. You will find that you have a difficult time meeting the minimum payment and will end up, at some point not being able to pay it. You will end up with bad credit over a credit card that you shouldn't have had to start with.

No job- If you don't have a job, you need to get rid of your credit cards. You should never charge anything if you have recently lost your job. That is asking for trouble. No matter how much you think you will have a job and able to pay the bill by the next month, that doesn't mean that it will happen. People often look for jobs for over a year without finding one. If you have no job, you shouldn't have a credit card.

Irresponsible- If you are the type of person who is irresponsible with paying your bills, you should not have a credit card. You are looking for credit nightmares if you don't pay your credit card bills. This will follow you around for years afterwards. If you know that you are irresponsible, you should not have a credit card.

Teenagers- It is probably not a good idea for teenagers to have credit cards. Teenagers aren't usually responsible enough to make sure the bill is paid. They have too many other things on their minds. The only time a teenager should have a credit card is if they are being monitored closely by an adult who will guide them through and help them understand how irresponsibility can affect them.

Credit cards can be a great help to you. They can also cause you a great deal of problems if you aren't careful. If you are one of the above type people, stay away from credit cards. Wait until you have enough cash to pay for what you want.
