When you think of girls and Halloween, you think of sweet princesses, storybook characters, cute witches, and adorable animals. As these girls grow and become teenagers, they tend to take Halloween to a darker level these days. Most of it is all in good fun, as they head off to a party or try to go trick or treating with friends while they still can. But what costumes are popular among teen girls now? After taking a poll, these costumes made the top of list.

Dark Fairy - Many teen girls have outgrown the days of Tinkerbell and other cutesy fairies. Some teens decide to make the fairies from childhood a little dark than others. There are a variety of styles when it comes to creating a dark fairy look so it is all about what the individual girl has in mind.

Goth Girl - Some teen girls don't wait for Halloween to adorn this costume. Others rejoice when Halloween arrives so they can let their inner Goth out. The best place to take your teen shopping is Hot Topic. Other places include Infectious Threads, Black Rose, and The Black Angel. Have her pick out an outfit, jewelry, and even some hair falls. One of the best places for hair falls is Sisters of the Moon.

Pirate - Even some girls are into the pirate theme. There are plenty of costume styles to choose from. Some are the typical pirate costume, whereas others are long skirts, short skirts, wench costumes, etc. Many girls have their own style and will just buy accessories.

Angel - Some girls enjoy looking for feathered wings and a chance to wear glitter. There are angel costume that are white and yet others are black or red. It just depends on whether the teen wants to be a sweet angel with a halo, or a dark, gothic angel.

Devil Girl - Many girls enjoy sporting more of a devilish look on Halloween. Again, the costume styles vary from just a horn headband with a tail to a full blown she-devil costume. Keep in mind that some costumes are short and sexy which may be inappropriate for their age.

Witch - Some girls still stick with being a witch for Halloween. Only at this age, it isn't about green skin and warts. Costumes styles vary and come in different colors.

Gypsy - Mysterious and yet easy to assemble. Although there are gypsy costumes out there, all that is needed is a long, flowing skirt, a ruffle shirt, bangle bracelets, and a scarf to wear on their head. They can carry a pack of tarot cards or even a deck of simple playing cards (which have been used for divination as well). Runes are also a good item
