There is no greater gift for a mother than something that makes her feel beautiful. Mothers have a way of putting their needs aside for their children and spouse and in the process begin to lose some of their identity. The demands on mothers, especially those who have several children, include meals, shopping, household chores, consoling hurt feelings, tending to cuts and bruises, assisting with homework, chauffeuring to and from activities, etc. etc. During all of these demands, she is expected to have a "happy face" or her family's moods will be quickly altered. At the same time, her spouse who works in a different world comes home and his primary comfort from a bad day is a happy wife. Not always so hard to be a happy wife as the day saps her energy and she feels less beautiful than she was when he married her.

So, what makes her happy Mother and wife? Though her strength and love keep her going most of the time, at some point she needs her family's validation. A few words of thanks and a helping hand because someone noticed that she seems tired. Too many times, she becomes part of the woodwork because she may not complain and if she complains, she may be viewed as being mad or cranky and her family retreats to their safety zones. Mothers do not like to demand help; they feel better when it is offered freely for it makes them feel loved.

It is a very fast-paced world with everyone busy with their own agendas. Many mothers work as well as tending to family which magnifies stresses. Today's Supermoms are not immune to feeling less beautiful as they juggle time and energy from one source to another.. Children do not always understand that mother needs quiet time as they perpetually need her to answer questions or to find a missing toy or their favorite shirt or blouse. Without intentions, children and husbands all believe that mothers are indispensable and her most-time success to keep them all happy verifies this belief.

What can make Mothers feel beautiful? A day at the Spa or at the Hair Dresser with a manicure is one of the best. This gives her time to get away and to look at herself as a person. Don't let her say no - tell her how important she is and that she deserves it.. The husband can take her on a dinner date or the family can prepare a meal for her to include her favorite cake. Sing happy birthday and let her make a wish and then give her the cards that say, "I love you because you are always there for me.." She never gets too old for attention - just like she gives to others every day.
