America's dilemma:
America is a real dichotomy between religion and evolution, but not just in the usual way people think. The financial collapse and Obama's reach for medical care for all, has brought this issue into sharp relief on several fronts: God, socialism, capitalism and evolution have confusing roles.
In both the above, cases of the financial collapse and medical care (as reported here in Britain), the majority of regular 'Joes' interviewed stated that America is not a socialist state and should let the banks and big businesses fail without bailouts and that everyone should be able to take care of themselves without having to pay for others' healthcare.
These are very capitalist opinions. They are also very 'evolutionary' statements, evoking survival of the fittest thoughts. If you're not a good bank; you fail and become extinct, likewise car companies, and any other unsound institution. If you can't take care of yourself and pay your own way in health, then don't rely on the rest of society to bail you out. In those cases, America is a dog-eat-dog world. Natural selection decides who the winners and survivors are.
But hang on, America is also afflicted by an epidemic of religion, especially creationism, the anti-evolution doctrine. How can such a society, so avidly devout, operate under such a open evolutionary capitalist government? The American lifestyle is unabashedly set in evolutionary terms; co-opted to so-called Social Darwinism - one adapts and mutates to suit the times or you become a low-rated species ripe for extinction in the 21st Century Empire.
The consumption society is based upon surviving to spread one's genes or financial legacy. How can creationism survive in the evolutionary capitalist atmosphere? That Creationism can survive within evolutionary capitalism must mean that it is also evolving. Is that a major flaw or part of the grand design? Can you believe in both religious non-evolution and the American brand of capitalism that is inherently evolutionary-based?
Where does this leave God? God must be a socialist entity (in nature not politics per se) being so benevolent towards all. God would want everyone to have free healthcare, God would want everyone to keep their jobs, and to let thy neighbour cross the U.S. borders without being harassed. If America is such a devout nation, then why does it not stick to the socialist tenets of God?
Or has God gone all capitalist and is out for Himself as well? Why does America fear Socialist
